PHILOSOPHY

Born from the encounter between Japanese craftsmanship and the Parisian aesthetic, YBUKI—meaning "the breath of life" in French—embodies the richness of Japan's cultural heritage.

Handcrafted in an atelier in the heart of Paris with the utmost respect for artisanal traditions, each unique piece in this collection awakens the dormant beauty of vintage Oshima Tsumugi kimono textiles. At the crossroads of luxury and art, the brand firmly establishes its presence within both Parisian and Japanese cultural spheres, intertwining elegance, heritage, and creation.

More than an end in itself, fashion metamorphoses and breathes new life into this treasure of Japanese heritage.

Dedicated to restoring the splendor of this exceptional, overlooked craftsmanship, the brand sublimates these textiles through a contemporary vision.

COLLECTION

The collection comprises 24 versatile looks, masterfully designed to transition seamlessly from day to evening. Out of profound respect for the artistry of Oshima Tsumugi kimonos, YBUKI employs a meticulous, time-honoured couture methodology. To share this cultural heritage without altering its essence, each piece is crafted to honor the original form and the intricate dyeing and weaving techniques of our Japanese counterparts. Every creation is the result of an exceptional assembly process, guided equally by technical rigor and deep creative reflection.

The textiles, woven in traditional panels measuring no more than 37 cm in width, demand a singular approach to cutting and garment construction. Far from a limitation, this rare constraint has inspired pieces where every line and silhouette is deliberately designed to elevate the sublime beauty of the Oshima Tsumugi fabric.
